Jake Howarth  

Jake Howarth: Cambridge Young Composer of the Year 2006

Jake was born in 1990 and attends the Kings School, Ely. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music with Clement Power. He won the inaugural Cambridge Young Composer of the Year Competition 2006. His winning composition, 'The Farewell', for orchestra, was given its first public performance at West Road Concert Hall on Sunday May 14, 2006.

Jake's composition 'Winter', also for orchestra, won the 13-16 class in the 2007 competition. It will be performed at Cambridge Youth Music's Concert at West Road on Sunday March 11, 2007.
