George Eddy  

George Eddy: Cambridge Young Musician of the Year 2008

George Eddy is a former Ely Cathedral chorister and King's School Ely pupil. He was born in 1989 and comes from March. He studies singing with Vanessa Scott of Witchford near Ely.

Performances include roles in 'Grease', 'Journey to the Forbidden Planet' and as Reb Tevye in 'Fiddler on the Roof'. He has also appeared as soloist with the Ely Choral Society and as Bass Soloist in the Saint-Saens Mass in Ely Cathedral.

George comes from a musical family, many of whom sing. His youngest sister is a girl chorister at Ely Cathedral. George is also something of an entrepreneur, setting up his own clothing company under the 'gedy' label.

George played the trumpet through school winning the school Intermediate 'Young Musician' title on the trumpet four years ago. The following year he was King's 'Young Singer' in the Intermediate competiton. In 2007 he was the 'Young Singer' once more but this time in the Senior class.

Last year George enjoyed taking part in some preliminary rounds of the 'X' Factor!
