This annual competition, now in its 14th year, provides the chance for young composers to hear their pieces performed by professional musicians and to get individual advice and feedback on their compositions.
It is open to those aged 18 and under who live or go to school in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. This year entrants were invited to compose for flute, cello and piano. All entries were played by the Marsyas Trio at the Finals on Sunday 27 October in Cambridge, with feedback provided by the Judge Ewan Campbell and the performers. A selection of the entries were performed at a short concert in West Road Concert Hall that evening.
