Cambridge Young Musician of the Year
Cambridge
Young Composer of the Year
Cambridge Youth Music runs two music competitions for young people in Cambridgeshire – the Cambridge Young Musician of the Year for instrumentalists and singers and the Cambridge Young Composer of the Year for young composers. Both were launched very successfully in 2006, attracting well over 200 entries.
The Cambridge Young Musician of the Year competition has been held every two years –in 2006, 2008 and 2010. CYM regrets that it is unlikely to have the manpower to run the competition in 2012. However we are in active talks with other organsations who are interested in helping with the event and we are very hopeful that the competition will be up and running again soon. We will post more news here as soon as we can. Please email us if you would like to be kept informed.
The Cambridge Young Composer of the Year competition is being held this year. Click here for details of the 2012 competition.
Cambridge Competitive Music Festival
This Festival, first begun in 1934, aims to encourage musicians of all abilities to share their music with others and to
receive advice and encouragement from experienced professional musicians. It takes place in March and offers over 100 classes for instrumentalists and singers.
