Cambridge Youth Music (CYM) is a Charitable Trust launched in May 2005 by a group of local musicians and parents. The group has received a great deal of encouragement and support from individuals and organisations from across the city and the university. We are delighted that Evelyn Glennie OBE and Julian Lloyd Webber have agreed to become our Patrons.

CYM aims to:

- support opportunities for all young people to experience the joys of music, whether through playing, singing, composing, conducting or listening

- provide financial and other support to local operations with similar aims

CYM's first major projects have been the Cambridge Young Musician of the Year and the Cambridge Young Composer of the Year providing a platform for talented young musicians and composers in Cambridgeshire.
