Harlton Church Organ Scholarship

Harlton Parish Church is offering an Organ Scholarship for young people aged between 15 – 18 years, who are interested in developing their organ-playing skills with the aim of eventually auditioning for organ scholarships at Cambridge colleges or elsewhere.  The Harlton Scholarship will be of two years duration, and will provide practise facilities and fortnightly lessons with Anne Page. It is envisaged that the Scholar will be able to attend choir rehearsals at Jesus College under the direction of Daniel Hyde, have extra practical tuition in choral and orchestral conducting from Leon Lovett, and receive opportunities to practise and play the organ in several College chapels. The Scholar will be expected to play at some Sunday morning services and concerts in Harlton and occasionally conduct or accompany choir rehearsals. There will be an allowance towards travelling expenses and music.

Those interested should apply before 1st June 2007. A selection process will take place later in June or early July. The successful candidate will be expected to start in August, and should live within a forty-mile radius of Cambridge.

For further information and application forms apply to the Director of Music, Harlton Church, 65 High Street, Harlton, Cambridge CB23 1ES .   Tel: 01223 264798
